Join us once a month on a Thursday, 13:30-14:30, for an open, discussion-based session on what makes coaching effective, safe and empowering for disabled (incl. neurodivergent) people.

Generic coaching approaches assume the answers lie within the individual but when the challenges come from external barriers, this approach simply reproduces disabling barriers by putting all the responsibility for change on the shoulders of the disabled person. This session looks at a different way.

    In this session, we’ll explore:

    • How disability-informed coaching differs from generic coaching
    • Why naming external barriers matters, and the risks of placing all responsibility on the individual
    • Coaching the whole person, including co-occurring conditions
    • Different formats of support, from ongoing one-to-one coaching to in-the-moment help when challenges arise
    • How to get the most from coaching, whether you’re receiving it, commissioning it or providing it

    Who it’s for:

Disabled (incl. neurodivergent) professionals, line managers and HR teams considering coaching support, and coaches who want to work more inclusively.

    Your facilitator:

Shazeaa Ishmael, Coaching Coordinator at The Work Inclusion Project.
