TWIP Support Hub

Online support for disabled academics and professionals.

We built the Support Hub to be there for you, to provide practical help to manage the busy, stressful workloads of disabled academics and professionals. Consistent support not dependent on the availability of one person, but still with the human support of a small group of trained TWIP coaches who facilitate the small-group support sessions, and host 60 hours of body-doubling, with breakout rooms for chatting on a break, co-working with friends and colleagues, or for ad hoc 1:1 support from the hosting coach. Support Hub Membership also provides access to our growing library of resources, information, and tools. From guidance on simple, practical reasonable adjustments to ask for, to example Stress Risk Assessments for neurodivergent academics, and from chronic illness pacing and fatigue management resources, to disability rights campaigning toolkits.

Part-time work membership for 2.5 hrs a week.

We know a lot of disabled academics, entrepreneurs, and professionals have seen their support from Access to Work cut drastically recently, so we have developed the TWIP Support Hub based on our collective 100,000+ hours experience supporting d/Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent people in work. TWIP Support Hub can’t fully replace the specialist 1:1 support from a disability practitioner, but we can help bridge the gap left by funding cuts and long waiting times, maybe reduce the level of 1:1 support you need.

*Support Worker must be funded for executive function / communication support tasks, requires written confirmation of active (not expired or lapsed) Access to Work award stating hourly rate, total hours remaining unclaimed on the award, and be accompanied by the Record of Tasks completed at application / renewal stage. Minimum membership fee is 5 days per week for full-time workers, pro-rata for part-time workers, both providing unlimited access to the Support Hub. For example – if you have an award of 10 hours per week at £20 incl. VAT per hour and are in full-time work, membership would be 5 x £20 hourly rate, incl. VAT. If you work 50% full-time equivalent, membership would be 2.5 x £20.
